HZB takes the protection of your personal data very seriously, and will treat your data in the strictest of confidence and in accordance with the law.
Handling of Personal Data
Personal data refers to all information relating to an identified or identifiable person. This includes, for example, name, age, address or even car licence plate number.
We will only ever collect, use or forward your personal data when this is legally permitted and/or you have given your explicit consent for us to do so.
When you visit the web pages of HZB, the following information will be automatically recorded:
- IP address
- Visited URLs within our web presence
- Transmitted data volume
- Name and version of the browser you use
- Time spent per visit
The data stored (in a log file on our web server) will be analysed in anonymised form once a month purely for our own internal web statistics.
Certain pages on our website provide options for registering for events and requesting information material. If you make use of these options, then we will record your corresponding personal data and/or contact details as needed to carry out your request. In these cases, you agree that we may forward your data to third parties if necessary for organisational purposes within the scope of providing the requested service and the associated processes, for example payment processing. We protect this data by suitable technical and contractual means such that it may only be used for the stated purposes. This data will be automatically deleted at the latest 6 months after the end of the event.
Assertion of affected person’s rights
You are entitled at all times and free of charge to request information regarding your stored personal data. You are also entitled to correct, block or delete this data, provided it is no longer needed for the continuation of normal business and no laws require its continued storage. On occasion, we use "cookies" (small text files containing visiting information that are stored temporarily on your computer) in order to determine the number, frequency, and return visits of visitors to our website. The cookies we employ are anonymised and used exclusively for the purposes stated above.
If you do not wish for any cookies to be used, you can set your browser to reject them. In most cases, cookies are stored automatically, but you also have the possibility to reject them or to be notified before any cookies are stored. Please refer to the respective browser vendor’s instructions for exactly how to set these options in your browser. You can also manually delete at any time any cookies that have already been stored.
